Dark Phoenix Jean Grey facial texture work
Reference to the Skrulls that were never used in the end film but which i textured in the early stages - Concept work by David Masson
Whilst working at MPC i had the honour of working on the Dark Phoenix motion picture. I worked on the early stages of the film and then later on near the end. Unfortunately due to certain changes to the film some of the work i helped create with the talented artists at MPC was taken out and replaced.
The Aliens/ Skrulls in this case, of which i helped texture the main bad guy in the film, since they were not released in the picture i have found work from the orignal concept artist David Masson and will be using it as a references to show what the final creature could have looked like. Ill leave a link to his Artstation where you can find the original designs.
Other parts of the film i helped texture (that stayed in) were the vein lines that appeared on Jean Greys face when the Dark Phoenix energy built up, working alongside other artists to get the finished result.
This was a great project to work on and apart from the content that was excluded (the Skrulls) i still enjoyed working on this project.
